Experience

I have been working in the mental health field for the last 10 years.  Prior to starting private practice, I received clinical experience from The Center For Individual and Family Counseling, a community agency in North Hollywood.  There I worked with a diverse population including adults, children, couples, and families with a variety of challenges and received extensive crisis management training.  Additionally, I was an on-site therapist for Byrd Middle School working with students with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, bullying, self-harm issues and more. In addition to private practice, I have worked extensively around the country in low-income communities creating and implementing expressive arts programs for at-risk youth and adolescents. I design programs that foster expression through various art forms like songwriting, drama, improvisation, movement, and spoken word. Working in various settings such as schools, probation camps, and boys and girls clubs has allowed me to work with youth (ages 6-18) in communities where access to the arts and opportunities to explore one’s feelings are stifled.  Due to my musical and artistic background, I incorporate these creative methods with clients when appropriate.
