ABOUT ME

Sari Rose Barron is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist  with 15 years of clinical experience specializing in Trauma/PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, Sexual Pain, Adolescents & Parenting.  Sari is also the Founder and Director of SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy, a psychotherapy group practice in Irvine, which offers services by experienced trauma-informed therapists with a variety of subspecialties. Typical treatments include anxiety & depression management, EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, and all other major treatment modalities.  

For the last 20 years, Sari has also served as Program Director for two arts outreach programs in partnership with ASCAP, each serving low-income and vulnerable communities: the Johnny Mercer Foundation and the Lyric Project.  With the Johnny Mercer foundation, Sari has worked extensively around the country creating and implementing expressive arts programs through songwriting, drama, movement, and spoken word for at-risk youth and foster youth.  

As Founder and Program Director for the Lyric Project, Sari developed her company Voices Unheard and partners with ASCAP and local theater companies to bring a yearly lyric writing program to high school students in underserved communities and juvenile detention camps.  

Sari also previously helped to create expressive arts programs for schools as Education Director for Reprise Theatre Company and Musical Theatre West, and as a volunteer with other arts organizations like All the Arts for All the Kids, Peace4Kids, The Unusual Suspects, and Inner-City Arts.

Sari is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, holds an M.S. in Counseling from CSUF and B.F.A. in Theatre and Criminology from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
